Q: How much do you charge for commissions?
A: Having a custom piece of artwork made is a highly personal process and requires a great deal of open communication between the commissioner and the artist. Because of that, it’s impossible to quote flat rates for commissioned paintings.
That being said, I generally charge about $80 an hour for my work, with most of my paintings taking between 1 and 6 hours to complete. Each project is specialized, and I’m happy to provide a quote for your specific project.
Q: What will I be getting?
A: I’m a digital painter, so you’ll receive a full color digital painting from me, like what you see in my print shop. In fact, once your commission is completed, I’ll print out a high quality 12 x 18 art print for you, sign it to you and mail it to your house, free of charge.
Q: What if I want a 20 x 30 poster instead of a 12 x 18 print?
A: I’m happy to provide you a poster! You’ll need to pay the printing difference between the two sizes - an additional $44. Shipping is still free, which is my way of saying thank you.
Q: Can I get a pencil drawing?
A: I am not available for pencil drawn commissions at this time.
Q: What happens if you go over the amount of time you estimated it would take to complete the commission? will the price go up?
A: Absolutely not. The price I quote at the beginning of the project you will not change, even i spend longer on your commission than I expected.
Q: How do I pay you?
A: Mostly I take PayPal. If that won’t work for you, let’s negotiate something else.
